Mehr als 500 000 Metallerinnen und Metaller haben einen Migrationshintergrund. Viele von ihnen sind ehrenamtlich aktiv – in den Betrieben genauso wie in ihrer Gewerkschaft. Wie Du mitmachen kannst.

Aktiv im Betrieb

Viele Menschen mit Einwanderungsgeschichte sind gewerkschaftlich aktiv. Rund 21 Prozent der IG Metall-Betriebsratsmitglieder haben einen Migrationshintergrund. In der Jugend- und Auszubildendenvertretung (JAV) sind es 26 Prozent. Und unter den IG Metall-Mitgliedern mit Gewerkschaftsfunktion (z.B. Vertrauensleute, Mitglieder in Tarifkommissionen) haben 29 Prozent eine Migrationsgeschichte.

Die Gleichstellung aller Kolleginnen und Kollegen ist ständiger Auftrag der IG Metall – so steht es in unserer Satzung.

Der Arbeitskreis Migration der IG Metall Stuttgart ist ein Zusammenschluss aktiver Kolleg*innen aus mehreren Betrieben und mit unterschiedlichen Migrationserfahrungen, die sich mit den vielfältigen Begleitthemen im Bereich Migration beschäftigten, dazu zählen unter anderem die politische und gesellschaftliche Teilhabe, (politische) Bildung und betriebliche Weiterbildung sowie die Bekämpfung von Diskriminierung und Rassismus.
